I have been a designer for more than a decade and over that time I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of design projects for clients around the globe.
I enjoy the challenge of varied work and I am excited to see what interesting proposals my clients have.
I am a strong believer in giving back to the future generation. I deliver lecturing and career advice to students interested in working in the digital sector.
I also work with the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) setting the future curriculum of design and development HNC and HND courses.
I work full-time as the Head of Design at INDEZ Ltd. We are a tight-knit and passionate team who specialise in ecommerce.
Founded in 1995, INDEZ are Scotlands oldest web company (two years older than Google). We have been working with the web commercially for a long time.
My first career was in sales. A role that allowed me to see first-hand how a business generates its income and the methods that work best in achieving this aim. At this point in my career, I was focused on learning how to make sales and finding new ways of pitching the company’s services. I am a very driven individual and constantly want to improve my skills. I read a lot of books on business and finance to achieve this.
In 2003 I founded my own web design company, which I ran successfully for five years before deciding to enter the commercial design industry full time and build on my existing skillset. Over the course of my career, I have been able to combine my skills and past experiences into a single topic: ‘Ecommerce’.
Having experience in business, selling and design works perfectly in the ecommerce market. I am in a unique position to add value for a client while understanding the business challenges they face.
Ecommerce is a fantastic sector to work within. I love the fact that I am benchmarked by the profit and success I can bring to a client’s company. It is rewarding to see a customer’s sales grow as a direct result of the advice and solutions I provided.
